LENOX Advances Fuel Cylinder Industry with Higher Capacity, Environmentally-Friendly Alternative

    Oct 16, 2008

EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. September 29, 2008 — LENOX, a leading manufacturer of premium power tool accessories, hand tools, torches, solder and band saw blades announces the introduction of the LENOX Fat Boy™, an environmentally-friendly fuel cylinder featuring 20 percent more fuel than standard cylinders.

The LENOX Fat Boy cylinders, available with either Propane or Max Power Propylene, features the patent-pending Green Key® technology; a simple device that when inserted into an empty cylinder, releases all remaining fumes, effectively depressurizing the cylinder so it can be easily recycled by a local steel recycler.

The new wider design of the LENOX Fat Boy cylinder contains 20 percent more fuel than standard 14.1 oz. cylinders, providing users with longer run times. Additionally, the cylinders have a 25 percent height reduction for greater accessibility in tight spaces and a sturdier base to reduce the risk of tipping over.

"Meeting the demands of today′s consumers was a key focus in the development of the LENOX Fat Boy cylinder," stated Lee Wilkins, director of marketing, joining technologies, LENOX. "Designing a cylinder with increased fuel capacity for longer run times and a green solution makes it a win-win for everyone."
