LENOX Introduces The LENOX Edge™ Bi-Metal Utility Knife Blades

    Jan 20, 2004

LAS VEGAS, January 19-22, 2004 – LENOX, a leading manufacturer of premium power tool accessories, hand tools and band saw blades, introduced the LENOX Edge™ bi-metal utility knife blades – the first bi-metal blades for utility knives.

Perfect for professionals and contractors doing all types of cutting, including drywall, roofing and floor installation, the LENOX Edge′s patent-pending bi-metal blade design features a high speed steel edge that stays sharp up to three times longer than traditional carbon steel blades. This means less blade changing during a normal workday and more productivity. The bi-metal technology also means the blade has a flexible spring steel backing, making the blade shatter resistant for safer cutting.

"Our extensive field testing demonstrated that the bi-metal blade technology gave professionals a level of durability and shatter resistance not found in any standard utility knife blade," said Corey Talbot, Product Manager for LENOX. "This translates into greater productivity for the user and a safer cutting environment."

The LENOX Edge bi-metal blades are .025 thick with a Matrix high-speed steel edge for excellent durability and a honed edge angle for maximum sharpness.

The LENOX Edge™ bi-metal utility knife blades fit all standard utility knives and are available in packs of three, five, 50 or 100 blades.

LENOX blades are sold at industrial and construction supply houses, building supply centers, hardware stores and home centers nationwide. For more information, consumers can call 1-800-642-0010.
